| Resort description |
La Toussuire in the Maurienne valley has grown since the 1960's in a panoramic mountain setting, located on a plateau with vast amounts of sunshine. It is predominantly modern, with a car free main street lined with controversial style buildings. The resort has now spread in complete contrast with recently built wooden chalets. As one of the central resort of the new Sybelles network, it is a recommended place for families.

La Toussuire
La
Toussuire is a friendly family resort, good
value for money and uncrowded, with safe and snow
sure slopes.
It
has an easy road access only 17km away from St Jean
de Maurienne.

Skiing in La Toussuire
The
local slopes including Les Bottieres total
55km.
La
Toussuire slopes are in a wide open bowl which is
great for beginners to early intermediates.
You
can access the other resorts of Les Sybelles via the resort of Le
Corbier, or you can take
a lift up to the summit of Tête de Bellard at 2235m then pass
l’Ouillon at 2430m
heading to Les Perrons at
2620m.
For
more advanced skiers some of the best slopes can be
found at Saint Sorlin
d’Arves and Saint Colomban des Villards.

There
is also a half pipe, 2 terrain parks and selection of
boarder crosses in Les Sybelles.

There
is 27km of cross country trails in Les Sybelles

Ski School
The
ESF offers snowboard and skiing lessons.
They
offer group or private lessons for adults and
children.
The
ESF also has a children’s club for children
over 3 years old.

| The Skiing |
| The villages of La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Saint Jean d'Arves, Les Bottieres, Saint Sorlin d'Arves and Saint Colomban des Villards have recently join forces to found a vast 310km ski area which provides access to a selection of well maintained slopes to suit all abilities. The lift system is under constant investment to increase speed and comfort for exploring the 'gently challenging' domain |

| La Toussuire has a small selection of welcoming and reasonably priced restaurants including L'Ancolie and L'Alpage which serve traditional cuisine. At lunchtime and for happy hour drinks, the terraces situated on piste front are very popular. Nightlife is fairly quiet though there are a few bars and a discotheque. |

| La Toussuire has a good selection of shops including a supermarket, grocery stores, doctors, bank and sport shops. Please note there is no pharmacy. |

| There is a reasonable amount to do, including snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding ride, skating or taking part in a torch lit decent. There is also a cinema. |
