Bourg Saint-Maurice

Bourg Saint-Maurice offers easy access to Arc 1600, allowing you to then explore the whole of the Paradiski area.

Les Arcs-Bourg St Maurice has acquired the Famille Plus label for its child and family friendly services and facilities (awarded by the French Tourism Ministry). For more information on the excellent childcare facilities please contact the tourist office.

Paradiski is the world’s largest ski area and offers a very wide variety of pistes, to suit every skier’s/snowboarder’s ability.

Probably the easiest ski village to reach from the new London St Pancras International rail terminal with a direct Eurostar high speed service likely to be quicker, as well as far more pleasant and convenient, than arriving by air.

Skiing in Les Arcs/Paradiski

Arc 1600 is set in the tress with views across to Mont Blanc and has a small scale atmosphere but from here you can access 425km of lift served runs, spread over 10,000 hectares.

The terrain will suit all levels of skier: Arc 1600 is based in thickly wooden terrain, surrounded by largely gentle trails through the trees; Arcs 1800 and 2000 are located at the tree-line with wide open sunny slopes above. Intermediates may benefit the most from this super ski area as they will be able to tackle most of the slopes. Experts will be kept more than happy and can challenge themselves on the extensive off-piste terrain.

From Peisey-Vallandry, you can hop on the double decker Vanoise Express cable car and within 4 minutes up to 200 people will have reached La Plagne and the joint Paradiski area.

Snowboarding in Les Arcs/Paradiski

Snowboarders have five snowparks, three boardercross courses and a half-pipe to enjoy.

Cross country skiing in Les Arcs/Paradiski

There are plenty of cross-country skiing routes to be explored in Les Arcs and Peisey.

The closest of the routes departs from the funicular train departure point in Arc 1600. In Arc 1800 a loop starts from the top of the Jardin Alpin chairlift and in Arc 2000 leaves from the main area on the lower slopes.

Ski Schools in Les Arcs/Paradiski

There is a wide selection of ski schools to choose from in the Les Arcs.

In Arc 1800 the ESF offers a wide variety of lessons for both adults and children.

The funicular railway from the town reaches Arc 1600 in only 7 minutes and runs every 20 minutes from 0730. Although there is no ski run back to Bourg Saint-Maurice the funicular runs until 2000 Mon - Thurs and 2100 Fri - Sun, so no need to rush back. From Arc 1600 you can explore the 425km of terrain that is the world's largest ski area: Paradiski. You may even choose to make use of the double-decker Vanoise Express cable car over to La Plagne. There is skiing to suit everyone, no matter what your ability.
