Ski Grand Massif
Snowsure skiing in Flaine with Ski Collection
The Grand Massif ski area, located between Geneva (50km) and Mont Blanc, includes the modern ski-in/ski-out resort of Flaine, as well as four charming traditional smaller resorts - Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval and Les Carroz. The Grand Massif’s Vallée du Giffre which runs through Morillon and Samoëns, ends in the spectacular 'Fer à Cheval'.
The Grand Massif ski area, France's fourth biggest, boasts 265km of piste and a great variety of terrain for all ski levels. With reliable snow and a lack of queues, Grand Massif perfect for family skiing.
From the central Tête des Saix, north-facing runs drop down steep mogul slopes towards Samoëns, while on the opposite side of the valley, easier pistes lead through tree-lined trails towards Morillon.
The runs to Les Carroz are short but varied and the small ski area of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval also links into the Grand Massif ski area via the 14km 'Cascades' blue run (although the return is via bus). There are excellent off-piste possibilities in Grand Massif and the 3 'Jamparks' offer snowboarders some of the best snow conditions in Europe.
Arrive in Grand Massif via direct motorway links from Geneva or by TGV train to Cluses, and travel through the Grand Massif ski area with regular bus links between the resorts.
