This Christmas saw some of the best snow for years. Starting in the week before Christmas and continuing through, the Alps saw 10 days of consecutive snowfall in some places. But snow had been falling consistently from November so it was a bumper start to the season. Current snow depths for La Rosiere, for example, are 290cm on the upper pistes and 182cm on the lower pistes. That's almost double compared to historical data for the same time of year. Almost every resort in the French Alps has seen heavy snowfalls over Christmas and New Year.
Christmas ski package holidays come inclusive of a return Eurotunnel crossing (with a free Flexiplus upgrade on certain dates) or you can book accommodation only. Prices quoted for our self-catered ski holidays are per apartment (irrespective of number of guests) and there are no under-occupancy supplements.
Christmas week 2018 commences on Saturday 22nd December which gives you enough time to settle in and unpack before the big day on Tuesday. Check out is Saturday 29th December, again meaning when your home you have enough time to settle and unpack before New Years Eve!

Christmas Snow Record
All our resorts have a snow range above 1500m (around 5,000ft). Altitude is however not the only important factor.
Some areas like the Grand Massif (Flaine) benefit from a micro-climate because of their close proximity to Europe’s highest peak, Mont-Blanc. These areas have a much more reliable snow record than other resorts at the same altitude or even than some higher-up.
Other important factors for good snow are North-facing slopes as whatever cover they get will simply last longer. What lies below the snow cover is also of importance: a few centimetres will be enough to ski on pasture whereas more will be required to cover a rocky surface.
Finally resorts that have snow cannons to cover the lower slopes (generally the nursery slopes) offer a good guarantee. These will normally run at night from early December to top-up on natural snow cover.
Above all what is important is to check the hard facts, as in the end the snow history over a period of time is the only reliable indicator. Over the past 8 years skiing was available in all our featured resorts. Please see individual resort pages for historical snow records.
From accommodation only to a package holiday, you can customise your Christmas ski holiday by adding extras:
Ski Extras: ski hire, ski lift passes, ski school and spa treatments
Travel Arrangements: self-drive package, en-route hotels, train services, private taxi transfers and car hire. Although we don’t book flights, we have flying information for the French Alps.
These Christmas ski deals will be updated regularly, so please keep checking for more ski holidays.
Please note that all Christmas ski deals apply to new bookings only, and cannot be applied retrospectively. They are subject to availability and are subject to our terms and conditions.
