Ski Collection's selection of privately owned ski apartments
The privately owned self-catering ski apartments and chalets that we have selected are generally second homes to French and British owners. Therefore the interiors will all be unique and individual – decorated to the owner’s personal taste, with homely touches throughout. They are better equipped than our standard ski apartments, with more of the items that you would find in your own home.
Space, privacy and independence
They are spacious, making them ideal for large groups or families and generally have more storage space too. All built in typical Savoyard style using wood and stone, the ski apartments are often part of a large chalet or house set in their own grounds and the ski chalets are semi-detached or detached. This offers you more privacy and independence, allowing you to enjoy the “real” French ski holiday experience.
All our private self-catering ski apartments and chalets have a well equipped kitchen, with most items you have at home in your own kitchen: oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee machine plus some also have the added benefit of a washing machine and tumble dryer. The living areas are large with comfortable sofas, a TV and a table and chairs. Some also have DVD players, Wi-Fi internet access and fireplaces.
The bedrooms are cosy with traditional alpine features and are sure to provide you with a good nights sleep after a long day of fun on the slopes! The fixtures and fittings throughout are of a superior quality to those of many standard ski apartments. Most have south-facing balconies with magnificent views over the nearby mountains or ski resorts. Some have private or underground parking and if not there is always a public car park within the ski resort. Cots and highchairs can often be hired. You will find the detailed descriptions of each privately owned ski apartment and chalet on our website (see the links below).
Friendly, locally based staff on hand
There will not be a main reception desk within the property but the agency that deals with the accommodation is never far away, with friendly and efficient staff – you never know you may even get to put your French to good use! In most cases you collect the keys from a nearby office and in some cases a local representative will meet you at the property. Even though our privately owned self-catering ski accommodation can be found in popular and sought-after ski resorts, they are excellent value for money.
Some of our accommodation offers ski-in/ski-out or doorstep skiing, with either central or slightly “off the beaten track” locations – so there really is a ski holiday in the French Alps for everyone! Unlike booking a standard self-catering ski apartment within a large complex, you will know at the time of booking exactly which apartment or chalet you will definitely be staying in. Detailed photos and floor plans of your chosen ski accommodation can be e-mailed to you in advance.
