The nearest ski lift is a mere 300m from the residence, whilst the resort centre of Val Thorens itself and the Ecole de Ski Francais (ESF) ski school are a 5-10 minute walk downhill (allow a little longer to walk back!).
Chalet Altitude is built in traditional Savoyard style and offers excellent amenities. There are a total of just 20 luxury self-catering ski apartments with outstanding views over the resort and ski slopes from the balconies.
Chalet Altitude enjoys free access to the private indoor heated swimming pool and sauna (open daily 10:00 - 20:00). The residence next door, Chalet Val 2400, has a bar named the 'Red Fox' where snacks and a takeaway service are available (open from 16:00 - late). Other facilities at Chalet Altitude include a luggage room, free Wi-Fi internet access (in all apartments) and brand new ski lockers with heated boot dryers. The bakery delivery service is ideal for fresh bread and croissants each day (payable, pre-order the night before at reception).
Val Thorens is a semi-pedestrian ski resort, meaning you can drive through the resort and unload your luggage at your chosen apartment or hotel and then you must park your vehicle in the residences car park or one of the public car parks in the resort, you are not allowed to park in the street. Chalet Altitude has private underground parking (max height 2.10m, payable locally) or you can use one of the public outdoor or covered car parks (payable & pre-bookable).
The loan of cots and highchairs, baby bath, & bottle warmer (request at time of booking, cot mattress & linen not provided), raclette and fondue sets are also possible (all subject to availability).
Following the renovation of all the apartments in the residence in 2018, the spacious self-catering ski apartments at Chalet Altitude in Val Thorens are fitted and furnished to a very good standard of comfort and convenience. The traditional alpine interiors are well designed, with a cosy and homely feel. They have a fully equipped kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, filter coffee-maker, toaster and kettle. All apartments have a living area with a lovely real stone fireplace (1 free bag of logs provided), digital flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi internet access and a balcony.

Completely renovated for the 2016-17 ski season, the 4* hotel Fahrenheit Seven Val Thorens, it enjoys an ideal ski-in/ski-out location (snow and level depending) in a quiet part of Val Thorens, just 150m from the centre of the resort and 100m from the nearest lift and ski school meeting point.
Built for the 2015-16 season, the Hotel Pashmina le Refuge is the latest of the resort’s 5* luxury hotels. Located towards the top of the resort in a quiet location, yet just 150m from the resort centre (free shuttle bus service until 9 p.m.), and right on the pistes, offering great ski-in/ski-out convenience (via a red run, so unsuitable for complete beginners and snow depending).
The highly popular 3* Hotel le Sherpa enjoys a wonderful position in the quiet Plein Sud area at the top of Val Thorens (on Rue de Gebroulaz) with spectacular views over the resort and its peaks. Ski convenience is excellent: you put your skis on just 30m from the front door and ski through the resort for about a minute to get to the ski school meeting point (snow and level depending).
