Extended and completely reconstructed for the 2017-18 season, the Avancher Lodge and Hotel Avancher have quickly established a loyal following and a reputation for being one of the best addresses in the resort. The reconstruction has been very successful, extensive use being made of the traditional materials of local stone and wood, but with some interesting contemporary additions. The atmosphere is one of relaxed well-being, and in particular, the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. Arrivals at the Avancher Lodge are on Sundays. Highly recommended equally for friends and families.
Guests of the Avancher Lodge may use the facilities at the Hotel Avancher which include a reception, lounge, spa with outdoor and indoor saunas, whirlpool and steam room (included), massage room and hairdressing salon (pay locally); atmospheric bar with fireplace; the very highly rated restaurant (closed on Monday evenings) serves an excellent 3 course half board dinner (not included for residence guests), as well as local specialities (their legendary raclette is not to be missed!), and an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast (included for residence guests).

The 36 stylish, beautifully appointed chalet apartments in 5* luxury Chalet Skadi enjoy an ideal location. Stunning interiors and superb facilities including a spa, beautiful low-lit relaxing pool area, sauna and hammam, give this residence an undoubtedly luxurious feel.
The luxury Chalet Izia, which opened in 2019, is a very welcome addition to the resort’s high-end accommodation offering. The residence enjoys the ultimate ski-in/ski-out location in the Legettaz sector, right next to the renowned red “M” piste (which becomes a blue heading down to the snow front, an easy one minute’s ski, with its nursery, ski school meeting point and main lifts). All 51 spacious apartments are very tastefully decorated in a relaxed, contemporary style.
The luxury Vail Lodge, opening December 2021, is a very welcome addition to the resort’s high-end accommodation offering. The south-facing residence enjoys a ski-in/ski-out location on the Santons ski slope in the sunny Legettaz sector. This small residence of 15 spacious apartments is very tastefully decorated in a relaxed, contemporary style.
4* Les Chalets du Jardin Alpin in Val d'Isère is located in a tranquil setting of the La Legettaz area, at the foot of the Solaise ski slopes offering doorstep skiing possibilities (snow and level depending) and is half a mile from the resort centre (800m).
Ideally located in the centre of Val d’Isere, with a view on the old town’s bell tower with the Face de Bellevarde, the Manchet valley, the Charvet rock and the Tête de Solaise in the background.
The excellent Hotel Avancher (and the adjoining Résidence Avancher Lodge****) enjoys an ideal location in a quiet part of the resort on the Avenue du Prariond, yet just 450m from the resort centre, lifts and ski school meeting point, and 350m from the slopes.
For the winter 19-20 season, the former lift station on the Tête de Solaise has been skilfully and lovingly converted into a brand new luxury hotel– at 2551m, the highest in the French Alps: the Refuge de Solaise is the most exciting hotel development in Val d’Isère this coming winter, and probably one of the most challenging and ambitious in the Tarentaise for many years.
